At Cawarden we have a vast sock of air dried seasoned beams. "Seasoned" beams have been stacked with bearers between each beam to allow air to circulate around all of the beam.
To become a seasoned beam the air drying process takes around five years
Seasoned beams are less likely to expand and contract .
"Green" oak is a newly cut beam and is likely to move and twist as it dries out
We also provide a full cutting service up to 12" or 300mm on site
