Once upon a time, cobble setts were the primary material to create roads throughout the country. Easy to set and shape into their desired form, cobble setts are still a popular alternative to flagstones in many building projects. Listed below is our full range of cobble setts, available both new and reclaimed, in various shapes and sizes guaranteed to fit the requirements of any customer. Cawarden also stock granite and stone setts in various sizes. Setts and cobbles are technically different things, although often referred to interchangeably. Setts are also known as Belgian blocks, or sampietrini, that are latticeworks of small rectangular bricks, whereas cobblestones are small naturally round rocks joined in a similar pattern. As a result, cobblestones are generally less even that setts, but most people refer to setts as cobbles and vice versa, without knowing the subtle difference.
Our reclaimed cobble setts are used for a wide range of architectural and landscaping projects, as well as smaller domestic jobs. Our cobble setts are either new or reclaimed from across the country, and upon delivery have been cleaned by hand and bagged for your convenience.
